Notes
Command frame: 4-char command + 4-char parameter (space-padded), terminated by 0DH 0AH (or lone 0DH). Negative numeric params use 3 digits (AUTR-005). MPOS, DATE, SCxx, SBxx use packed (non-space) parameters. R-direction commands accept ???? or ? to query current value; reply is the bare value.
